As part of Egypt’s “Year of Civil Society,” the Ministry of Social Solidarity (MOSS) has launched a new training initiative“Forsa” program in collaboration with PDF. The initiative aims to build the capacity of 100 NGOs across Egypt in economic empowerment and sustainable project management.
The first round of training, running from January 30 to February 11, 2022, focuses on key skills including beneficiary selection, feasibility studies, market linkage, and project evaluation. The program includes institutional assessments of participating NGOs.
Dr. Atef El Shabrawy, Economic Empowerment Advisor and Director of the Forsa Program, emphasized that this partnership targets small and medium-sized NGOs who had previously submitted over 500 project proposals impacting more than 60,000 beneficiaries nationwide.
This initiative supports the government’s broader effort to enhance the role of civil society—particularly in projects like Hayah Karima—and to improve living standards through economic empowerment. PDF will lead training delivery, evaluation, and cover associated costs.
