About Senior Exceutive Program (SEP)
The Center for Executive Excellence (CEE) at the Professional Development Foundation (PDF) has partnered with Indian
Institute of Management – Ahmedabad (IIM-A) to deliver the SEP. (IIM-A) Established in1961 number one business school in India and consistently a top rated school in Asia, The institute had initial collaboration with Harvard Business School (HBS). This collaboration greatly influenced the institutes approach to management education.
Program Objectives
The SEP has been designed to develop core strategic and leadership capabilities. It emphasizes a strategic and well structured problem-solving approach. The strategic perspective of the program will enable participants to develop competencies to analyze the enter-functional linkages both inside the business and with the external business environment. This will equip participants to formulate comprehensive, internally consistent and concrete strategies for the business units and also think through the implementation issues.

Methodology
This program will be taught by a team of professors from the IIM-A. This team will bring the program their outstanding research, consulting, and expert advice. SEP will also feature guest speakers known for exceptional achievements in business.
A mix of pedagogical tools – cases, lectures, discussions, presentations, audiovisuals, and experiential exercises will be used. A typical day would include about five hours of classroom sessions and about five hours of group work and preparation for classroom discussions.
Faculty
(IIM-A), Established in 1961, the IIM-A has evolved from being India's premier management institute to a noticeable international school of management. Over the four decades, IIM-A has not only brought professionalism to Indian management but also influenced the global management practice through its research and teaching. The institute had initial collaboration with Harvard Business School (HBS). This collaboration greatly influenced the institutes approach to management education. IIM-A not only adopted the HBS case method but also successfully developed a capability to write excellence cases.
Value to Participating Organizations
The SEP has been designed to develop core strategic and leadership capabilities. It emphasizes a strategic and well structured problem-solving approach. The perspective of the program will enable participants to develop competencies to analyze the challenges of functional linkages both inside the business and with the external business environment. Prior to the start of the program, participants will have communicated the competitive conditions or challenges facing their operations to IIM-A for further data gathering. Once the program begins, classroom and group work is geared towards developing strategic plans for implementation. Through individual consultation sessions with IIM-A faculty, each participant will be able to understand their challenges and discuss possible solutions needed for change.
Selection Criteria
This program will be most suited for talented Senior Managers gearing up to take on senior leadership positions. These managers could be under consideration either for a move forward to their first senior management position or for increased responsibility in their existing leadership role.
