PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION AND JOBZELLA ORGANIZED THE BIGGEST EMPLOYMENT FAIR IN 2018

After two successful collaborations between PDF and Jobzella, this employment fair is the third project undertaken by both entities collaboratively. Other events included 2016 employment fair and “Ne2dar” job fair for people with disabilities. It is worth mentioning that this is the latest effort between the two entities in their initiative to take an active role in the community through providing a chance for job seekers to easily network with employers.  A total of 70 companies participated in 2018 largest fair. PDF and Jobzella are keen to provide suitable job opportunities for all levels of expertise, from fresh graduates to experienced professionals.  Leading companies joining the fair include: Majid Al Futtaim Group, B-TECH, GlC Paints, Attijariwafa Bank, Dawaee pharmacies and other major companies. In addition, the fair provided a number of distinguished training opportunities and various educational courses that contribute to the professional and career development of job seekers. One of the most important activities that Jobzella and PDF are introducing this year is the presentation of inspirational speeches by experts and representatives of different companies.

12 ORGANIZATIONS WIN THE “AWARD OF EXCELLENCE” PRIZE IN ITS THIRD YEAR

Professional Development Foundation (PDF) announced, in a large ceremony, the winners of the NGOs Award of Excellence for the civil society organization, held under the auspices of the Ministry of Social Solidarity, for the third consecutive year.

This year, the winners are 12 NGOs from 12 governorates divided as follows: 4 organizations won financial prizes from EGP 50,000 to 150,000 to each organization, 4 other organizations won in-kind donations, and 4 organizations won certificates of recognition.

The winning projects varied from providing psychological support for the children, rehabilitation and empowerment of persons with disabilities and youth, revival of handicrafts, slum upgrading, to developmental projects which provided job opportunities, support the poorest families and publication of the value of art and make it accessible to all.  

Community Development Association in Eljoura city, North Sinai governorate, won the first prize worth EGP 150,000 for the project of providing psychological support for children affected by security conditions in the governorate. True Light Society (el nour el hakiki) in Minya governorate, servicing the visually disabled, won the second prize worth EGP 100,000 on the project of the rehabilitation and empowerment of persons with disabilities, their families and their contacts. The Community Development Association in AlQasr, Al-Wadi Al-jadid governorate, won the third prize, worth EGP 75,000 on the “ With our hands” {beaydina} to revive traditional and nomadic crafts project. Egypt’s Youth Association for Community Development in Fayoum won the fourth prize, worth EGP 50,000 on the “Our children are our future” project, working to establish teaching classes as community schools in order to integrate children dropouts.   

The in-kind donations were received by Media Arts for Development in Cairo on the “Community Cinema” project, Hayaty Association for Slums Development in Alexandria on the “180 degree for slum development” project, Future Association for Community Development in Radisseya Aswan on the “Beekeeping and Honey extraction” project, and finally,  Assuit Businesswomen Association on “Discover your abilities and invest your talent” project

The third prize category, Certificate of Recognition, was won by 4 organizations: Egyptian Foundation for Development and Training in Sohag on the “Support quality education” project, Nagaa Hammadi Businessmen Club Association in Qena on the “My country house” project, Tamkeen Foundation for Development and Training in Sharkeya on the “Creative child club” project, and finally the Egyptian Small Enterprise Development Foundation in Giza on the “Tricycle” helping families to provide a source of income project.  

It is worth mentioning that the winning NGOs were announced by the ceremony’s guest of honor, Anoshka, who expressed her happiness for being a part of the ceremony and recognizing such outstanding efforts done by the NGOs. In addition to the attendance of the President of the Central Administration of the NGOs Sector in the Ministry of Social Solidarity, as a representative for H.E. Dr. Ghada Waly, the Minister of Social Solidarity.

 

The winning organizations were selected for the Award of Excellence based on a set of conditions and standards evaluated through several stages. On top of these conditions and standards are the innovation rate, the impact of the projects or the services on the society and the number of the program beneficiaries through the evaluation of the program planning stage, the implementation stage as well as the project or program documentation, also the sustainability and continuity.

The Professional Development Foundation Partners with Marriott International and Helwan University

The Professional Development Foundation in partnership with "Helwan University" launches the first bachelor degree for hotel management using the dual education system the program consists of 2 aspects  the academic part which is delivered  at the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels Helwan University and the practical part  a unique hospitality training program developed in response to a growing need for talent within the industry. Created in partnership with Helwan University and Marriott International, the program is focused on fast tracking the next generation of hospitality leaders from Egypt, by providing them with first hand experience and a springboard to launch successful careers in the industry. The program was launched at a signing ceremony graced by the Honorable Minister His Excellency Khalid Atef Abdul Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Egypt.
Also present at the occasion was Mr. Arne Sorenson, President and Chief Executive Officer, Marriott International, Professor Maged Negm, President of Helwan University and Mr. Mohamed Farouk Hafeez, Chairman of the Professional Development Foundation.

PDF Launches the NGOs Award of Excellence 2018

PDF launched the 3rd round of the NGOs Award of Excellence  under the auspices of the Ministry of Social Solidarity, aiming at developing and supporting the civil society sector with an emphasis on providing the right measures to upgrade their professional and administrative capabilities as well as motivating innovation, and NGOs promotion of core competencies before the private sector entities thus supporting the substantial projects in the areas of development to contribute in social problems solving.
The registered NGOs are currently submitting the required documents to be reviewed by the Internal Committee .

PDF Organized the 4th annual conference of CSR social responsibility in collaboration with the ILO

The Professional Development organized the fourth annual conference of social responsibility for companies in collaboration with the International Labour Organization, Alex Bank and Sawirus Foundation  
Attended by more than 1190 representatives of the Egyptian and international companies, who have achieved success in the field of sustainable development, who have an active role in the work of social responsibility , in addition to a number of academics and civil society organizations.
PDF  held several meetings with a number of companies, and local institutions to raise awareness of the importance of social responsibility in small and medium-sized enterprises
PDF round table session under the title “Corporates - Government & NGO partnership for Sustainable Development” witnessed large trafic  audience who showed a keen interest in PDF activities

PDF and Jobzella Come Together To Organize The Biggest Special Needs Employment Fair In Egypt

In response to President Abdelfattah El-Sisi’s announcement about 2018 being the year of special needs in Egypt, Professional Development Foundation in cooperation with Jobzella for general consulting  launched its newest initiative “Ne2dar" The initiative aimed to host the biggest employment fair for special needs.

The employment fair was not only limited to offering job opportunities, but also sought  to form a complete institution that offers training programs and other services aimed to helping the special needs and preparing them for a seamless transition into Egypt’s workforce.
