On the 4th & 5th of May, the Civil Society Support Center in collaboration with Microsoft held their NGO Connection Day to build capacity of NGOs. The event was attended by 38 NGOs specialized in human resource development, education and health.
The 2 days event theme was “ Managing the Changes “ and aimed at encouraging the participant NGOs to deal with “Changes” related to lack of funds and lack of resources and to help NGOs to think of different ways towards “sustainability” also provide NGOs with update on the recent technology solutions as well as build their business management capabilities.
The methodology of the 2 days was experiential learning based trainings; were The First day of the event allows the attendees to face the problem and to start planning for it while the second day gives them a chance to apply what they learnt during the first day avoiding previous mistakes and failures.
The second day of the event included a dedicated part to create awareness on how to leverage IT in the internal operation of NGOs and in their services to their community. It started by a presentation by CSSC introducing the NGO Capacity Building Program as well as Techsoup program benefit & how they can leverage MS technology in their own operation and community programs. Followed by a dedicated session by Microsoft to tackle the problems arose during the 1st day and teaches attendees how to manage changes through learning Microsoft projects and introducing how technology can help in managing changes.
The event was highly interactive, very challenging yet full of fun with attendees from different NGOs engaged to seek solutions for common problems and to have creative solutions related to funding problems.
